The bagel trend is heating. You can find bagels everywhere – coffee shops, restaurants and online shops.

The Big loves eating bread. (maybe that’s the reason why The Bread is called the bread? lmao) Recently, small bakeries love selling their products through Instagram, probably to avoid the unreasonably high rental in HK. Bagels are especially popular.
It is also a bakery that supports the Yellow Economy, so let’s try.
Most of the bagels shops make a twist to traditional bagels and fill it with plentiful stuffing like cheese, chocolates, mochi and etc. Brickery stands out and back to the basic – emphasizing the texture of the bagels.
What did we order?

Brickery is proud of their chewy texture of the bagels. So, tasting of their plain original bagel would be a good choice. Comparing to other bagels we bought from other Instagram shops, Brickery made the most pleasantly chewy bagels, but of course the New York traditional bagels are much more chewy.



We bought their homemade garlic & chives cream cheese to pair with the original bagel. At first we just coated with a thin layer. You can feel the original but beautifully scented flour. We then coat the bagel with a thicker layer of cream cheese. The Big is so happy when she coated a 2cm thick cream cheese. The garlic flavor is strong but we would like to be a bit greedy to ask for a stronger chives scent.

As you know, butterfly pea is tasteless despite the fascinating blue color. As expected, the bagel is plain in flavor but slightly nutty.
After eating it plain, we found that some comments recommend eating it with honey walnut cream cheese. Felt so regretful for not purchasing the honey cream cheese too!

What a fancy bagel! Trust me, you will be happy when you see the colour of the bagel. A milky way-like bagel.


。Jalapeno with Cheddar & Sun-dried Tomato。
The two bagels we talked about are the healthy choices. If you opt for something with stronger flavor, this would be a good choice.
You could put a remark on your purchase to choose the level of spiciness. The Big chose ‘mild’ as this is her breakfast. She prefers a less exciting morning haha! Mild is still hot! Don’t look down to jalapeno!
Sundried tomatoes are kneaded into the dough giving a fresh and appetizing touch. The sundried tomato are slight sour and perfectly savory. The cheddar are drizzled on the dough and crispy after baking. Not only the surface of the dough, the cheese is also presented at the base of the bagel. Mouthwatering!



The best part of the bagel is the homemade candied lemon. The lemon is candied with honey perfectly. It is perfectly sweetened and at the same time preserving the sour to keep it fresh. When you are eating the bagel, you feel like drinking a cup of lemon tea.

This is our favorite! The ceylon tea leaves are grated and blended to the dough. The aroma of Ceylon tea is long-lasting.


。Crispy Bacon & Seeded Mustard。
Bacon and mustard would never go wrong on bakery products. You would find many mustard seed in the dough. It gives a crispy texture and balance off the grease of bacon.
However, we are a bit disappointed by the bacon. The 4 pieces of bacon are the only bacon in the bagel. While they are stacking up, you will need to separate it by yourself if you want to evenly distribute it on the bagel. Not to mention the small portion of the bacon, you are eating a mustard bagel purely. Just a little advice: gently fry the bacon and chop it into smaller pieces and mix it to the dough may taste good, probably?
